SEO is a lot like ice cream. Everyone’s got an opinion on what’s best, but not everyone does it right. And sometimes it’s full of nuts!
With summertime right around the corner, our team‘s got ice cream on the brain. We recently enjoyed a trip to local favorite Scoops On Tap and got to chatting about all things ice cream. From flavors and toppings to “hot takes,” here’s the scoop on the Redefine team’s icy dessert preferences.
Stephanie Fehrmann, Founder
- Favorite brand/store: My favorite mainstream / easy to find brand is Baskin Robbins! My favorite niche / harder to find one is Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams!
- Favorite flavor: From Baskin Robbins – Rainbow Sherbet. I haven’t tried a ton of Jeni’s flavors since they’re harder to find, but these are the ones I’ve tried that I love: Brambleberry Crisp, House Coffee, Snow Cone Sorbet, and Sweet Cream Biscuits & Peach Jam. I would LOVE to get my hands on their seasonal Eggnog flavor one of these days. I also love affogatos from anywhere!
- Favorite topping(s): None. I don’t really add things to my ice cream.
- Cone or cup: Cup
- Soft serve or regular: Regular. If I’m eating ice cream, give me all the fat.
- Hot take: Least favorite flavor is anything fat-free or sugar-free. If I’m eating ice cream, it needs to be sinful. Otherwise it’s a hard pass for me. Also, I hate frozen yogurt.

- Favorite flavor: Love Potion 31
- Favorite topping(s): No toppings
- Cone or cup: Cup
- Soft serve or regular: Regular
- Hot take: I’m not at all a “rocky road” kinda guy.

- Favorite flavor: Mint Chip, or Cookies & Cream

- Cone or cup: Cone, that takes me back to my childhood and getting ice cream during summer break from school.

- Hot take: Frozen yogurt is bootleg ice cream and should be banned.

- Favorite brand/store: Thrifty Brand
- Favorite flavor: Cookies and Cream, and Butter Pecan
- Favorite topping(s): I typically don’t add toppings, but I do like a banana royale. But I typically like my ice cream plain.
- Cone or cup: Cup, but if I’m in the mood for a cone, it has to be a waffle cone.
- Soft serve or regular: Regular, hands down.
- Hot take: Pistachio. Keep that green abomination away from me.

- Favorite brand/store: Whatever niche place my buddy says we’re going to in LA that night because he saw it on TikTok.
- Favorite flavor: That mint one!
- Favorite topping(s): Gummy sharks

- Soft serve or regular: There’s a difference??? [Editor’s note: Yes, there’s a difference.]
- Hot take: Frozen custard is the sleeper, third option in the ice cream vs froyo debate that nobody ever thinks about (except Mike).

- Favorite flavor: Mint Chip
- Favorite topping(s): Mini M&M’s (when appropriate)
- Cone or cup: Cup
- Soft serve or regular: I’m open to either.
- Hot take: Don’t like ice cream with nuts.

- Favorite topping(s): Honestly? Sprinkles. They don’t add any flavor but the rainbow colors always make me happy.
- Cone or cup: Cone, but only if it’s a waffle cone. Don’t waste my time with those other cones.
- Soft serve or regular: Depends on my mood.
- Hot take: Having ice cream when it’s cold or rainy is weird. It’s gotta be a warm, sunny day or a balmy summer night, or I don’t want it.

- Cone or cup: I like to get a cone AND a cup, so that I can keep my cone from dripping. (I eat a lot of ice cream on-the-go.)
