Favorite thing about your job: The research – I’m always learning new things!
What was your first job: In-N-Out. Grilled onion addict to this day.
In elementary school, what did you want to be when you grew up: My earliest ambition was to be a cake decorator at Piggly Wiggly. However, I remain a terrible baker.
What is your earliest memory: Sitting on the floor in my parents’ bedroom (no idea why), leaning back against their dresser, devouring Chapter Three of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone: “The Letters from No One”
What is a fun or interesting thing about your hometown: I don’t have a hometown – does that count? I’m a military brat and grew up all over the states.
What’s your favorite family tradition: Um… Christmas morning Bloody Maries?
Food Stuff
What is your favorite cereal: Panda Puffs?
How do you like your eggs: Overeasy. A cooked yolk is a tragedy.
If you could eat only one meal for the rest of your life what would it be: Gonna go with hamburger-Animal-Style-no-lettuce-add-sliced-chilies and fries.
What’s your go-to Starbucks order: Don’t have one – I’m a mercurial being.

Favorite band/musician: Beach House
Favorite movie: Thelma and Louise
Favorite TV show: In no particular order, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Peep Show, BoJack Horseman
Favorite superpower: Flying, definitely flying.
Favorite social media network: I don’t really have a favorite; I don’t use it much outside of work.
Favorite apps: Honestly, my only favorite is the Merriam-Webster app.
Hobby & Travel Stuff
What are your hobbies: Writing fiction, reading, cooking, sewing, nerdy game nights.
What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time: Magic the Gathering (white/red flyer deck and proud).
Can you play any instruments: Not by any stretch of the imagination.
Do you collect anything: Nothing on purpose…
What are the last three books you read: We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson, The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, and Severance by Ling Ma. (Highly recommend all three!)
Most recent vacation: I’ve been going out to Joshua Tree a lot.
What’s your favorite city/state/country you’ve ever visited: Mexico City

If you could have dinner with one person, alive or dead, who would it be: Ursula K. Le Guin
At which store would you like to max out your credit card: The Last Bookstore in Los Angeles.
Do you have any strange phobias: Disembodied human hair, especially if braided, banded, or tied with ribbon. (Have you heard of Victorian hair art? Unfortunately I have.)
Have you ever met anyone famous: A few authors and musicians. Flying Lotus once gave me a hug.
If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be: To play the piano.
If you could choose one age to be forever, what would it be: If there’s an age like that, I haven’t reached it yet.
What characteristic do you like most about yourself: My love of learning.
Have you had your 15 minutes of fame yet: Nah. It’s probably for the best – I sweat through my shirts just discussing my marital status and occupation during Jury Duty.
