Life Stuff

What Do You Do at RMG?: I am our Senior Content Manager! I write words and oversee the writing of other words, bringing content and SEO deliverables to our clients!

Favorite Thing About Your Job:  I love that there’s always something to do! Each day brings new exciting challenges. It’s a lot of fun, and my team is fantastic as well.

What Was Your First Job?: I worked at CiCi’s Pizza, starting the day after my 18th birthday. I didn’t like it at all, which is why I’m in marketing now, instead of food service.

In elementary school, what did you want to be when you grew up?: I wanted the nebulous title of ‘an artist.’ Professionally I am a writer, but I draw for fun often. I have sold art for money – does that mean I achieved my dream?

What is your earliest memory:  I recall standing in my bedroom when I was about two and enjoying how the light from my lamp looked. There was a pink shade on it that cast the room in a rosy glow. Maybe that’s why pink is still my favorite color.

Favorite Stuff

What’s your favorite family tradition:  I don’t have any family traditions, but I’m working on making a few with my friends.

What is a fun or interesting thing about your hometown:  My hometown is Las Vegas, NV, which is inherently sort of ‘fun’! But something more relevant to me is that if you look up the most haunted places in Las Vegas, the middle school I attended is sometimes listed among the results. I never did get to see that ghost janitor myself, though…

Favorite movie: Portrait of a Lady On Fire. I can’t watch it without crying, yet I consider putting that movie on as something I do to treat myself. It’s beautifully poetic and very personal to me.

Favorite actor/actress: Admittedly, I don’t keep up with actors or actresses. I’m usually a fan of what Taika Waititi directs, though.

Favorite sports team: I love it when the Sports Team and the Sports Guys make the ball Go. Sometimes they do this with exceptional speed or elegance, which is cause for a grand celebration.

Favorite TV Show: What We Do In The Shadows! I also love Our Flag Means Death.

Favorite superpower: I would love to be able to shapeshift! I think I’d permanently shift myself into being at least 7 inches taller when I wasn’t turning into a bird.

Favorite social media network: I must admit to being one of the few people still on Tumblr. I have used it almost daily since 2011 and met some of the most influential people in my life there. I am going to keep using that app until Automattic nukes it.

Top three favorite apps: Tumblr, Discord, and YouTube are the most used on my phone. Close runners-up are Spotify and Cookie Run.

What are your hobbies: I’m a lady with many little hobbies, but my main one is collecting, making, and customizing dolls. A bit weird, I’ll admit, but it’s a lifelong interest. Additionally, I love to make home movies of my friends and I getting up to shenanigans – usually when we get together for holidays or birthdays, and sometimes just for fun.

Hobby & Travel Stuff

What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time? : I am a Dungeons and Dragons dungeon master! I have written my own campaign that meets every other Thursday evening. The storytelling, worldbuilding, character creation, and roleplaying are definitely a selling point.  I also play an MMORPG regularly.

Can you play any instruments?: I can play the ukulele decently, but I need someone else to tune it. I’m a bit tone-deaf.

Do you collect anything: Besides the dolls, I also like collecting things with rabbits or bunnies on them. It’s not something I ever want to have an excess of, but to use a porcelain rabbit-shaped dispenser for my lotion is a little thing that brings me a lot of joy.

What are the last three books you read: Atomic Habits by James Clear, Hot Dog Taste Test by Lisa Hanawalt, and Searching for Sappho: The Lost Songs and World of the First Woman Poet by Philip Freeman.

Most recent vacation:  I went to Seattle, WA, to visit a few of my friends. I would love to live in Washington one day.

What’s your favorite city/state/country you’ve ever visited: See above! I love the Pacific Northwest in general – I think because I was raised in a desert, a place draped in clouds and pine trees feels so alien compared to what I’ve always known.

Random Stuff

If you could have dinner with one person, alive or dead, who would it be:  Sorry to get a little deep, but my godmother passed away when I was 8. She left a significant impact on me. I’m even named after her; her initials were KC, which my parents turned into Casey. I want nothing more than to sit down and learn her life story. I’d like to cook the dinner, too – I think she’d be proud of me for that.

At which store would you like to max out your credit card: There’s a store in a mall near me called Maido that is filled with stationery and home goods. I’d wreck that place if I could be completely irresponsible.

Do you have any strange phobias: Mychophobia – the fear of mushrooms. I don’t like seeing or touching mushrooms, fungi, or natural slime.

Have you ever met anyone famous: We didn’t meet, but I once saw Todd Howard, the director and executive producer of Bethesda Game Studios, walking through downtown LA after the E3 gaming convention in 2018. He was chatting with someone, so I didn’t want to interrupt.

If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be?: I want to speak Spanish, ASL, and French fluently.

If you could choose one age forever, what would it be: I’d love to have the physical health I did when I was 22, but the brain I have now.

What characteristic do you like most about yourself: I’m great at improvisational storytelling.

Have you had your 15 minutes of fame yet: It hardly counts, but I’ve had three posts get a lot of attention under one of my online social media aliases. Of course, none of them used my real name or anything traceable back to me, but they did make me feel like the funniest person on earth.
